About the project
What are past and present experiences of birth in Bloomington? "Lineages of Birth" explores recent history and our current moment, bringing together members of the community and birth workers of all kinds. We focus especially on Bloomington Area Birth Services, which was so important to so many between 1995 and 2014.
"Lineages of Birth" unfolds as a series of artistic and public events, gathering oral histories, memorabilia, and important objects, and developing a living archive at the Kinsey Institute Library & Special Collections. Please join us!
